12 Herbs and spices.

Ingredients
1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
3 beaten eggs
Oil for frying. Canola or Peanut Oil works best

For the coating

2 cups flour
4 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning (or chicken stock powder)
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon tarragon
1 teaspoon parsley
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon chives
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon celery salt

Directions:

Sift flour and add together all the coating ingredients and grind finely with a mortar and pestle and place in a clean plastic bag. Coat each chicken piece first with the beaten egg, then with the flour mixture in the bag. Make sure you coat each piece completely with the flour.

Heat the oil in a skillet. Brown the chicken in oil slowly, uncovered. Once browned, cover the skillet and keeping frying on a very gentle heat until the chicken is fully cooked. Place on paper towels to drain out the excess oil.

Crockpot Bacon Cheese Potatoes

Ingredients
1/4 pound bacon, diced – I bake it first in the oven so that it is “done” and browned then I dice it and place in the crock pot.
2 medium onions, thinly sliced
4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced (or... if you use a new potato or Yukon gold then halve)
1/2 pound cheddar cheese, thinly sliced (shredded is fine)
salt and pepper
butter
Green Onions (optional)
Instructions
Line crockpot with foil, leaving enough to cover the potatoes when finished – this will help to not stick and to steam the potatoes – also to keep them from getting discolored or mushy.
Layer half each of the bacon, onions and potatoes in the crockpot.
Season to taste with salt and pepper and dot with (real) butter.
Repeat layers of bacon, onions, potatoes and cheese. Dot with butter.
Cover with remaining foil.
Cover and cook on low for up to 6 hours (check at 4 hours – depending on your crock pot).
Add cheese for the last 20 – 30 minutes and enjoy!

fun crafts

hear are some fun crafts i have found around.

Ice Candle

Image for Ice Candle DIY Craft Project
Square candle mold or Bottom of a milk carton
Candle wick
Candle wax
Optional Candle dyes Ice cubes

This project uses the Basic Candle Instructions. Which you can find it from this link http://www.craftbits.com/project/basic-candle-making

Follow basic candle making instructions so that you have melted wax, cooled and ready to pour.

used a milk carton for the mold.

Place your ice cubes into your milk carton mold. Do not place them neatly as the candle will need to form in the cracks of the ice cubes. The less organized the better. Try to keep the center of the candle (around the wick) free from ice, so that the wax can form around the wick insuring a consistent burning candle.

Slowly pour your melted wax over the ice cubes and around the wick area. Continue to do this till the milk carton is full.

Allow all the ice to melt and the wax to set before slipping it out of your milk carton
